Labor Day is fast approaching, and we can’t wait to relax and have some quality time with family and friends. 1. Dive-In Movies
It’s time to pack your favorite float! Catch a Dive-In Movie by the pool this Friday at 8:15pm (weather permitting). On rainy days the festivities will be moved indoors, for the show must go on! This is open for guests of all ages. So grab your favorite float and jump in or just lounge around the pool for the show.
2. Red Dragon Pirate Cruises
Ready to meet Port Aransas’s scurviest lot of scalawags and hooligans? Don’t miss this two hour interactive pirate ship adventure at Red Dragon. Leaves daily at Deep Sea Headquarters. Three trips daily. You won’t want to miss! More info here.
3. Slip N’ Slide & Washer Tournament
Happy Labor Day, America – let’s slide our way into fall! Between dips in our olympic sized heated pool you may want to join in on some Labor Day festivities. Join us at noon on Saturday for some poolside fun including Slip N’Slide! Or come sing your favorite song at Poolside Karaoke on Sunday from 7-10pm.
4. Free Yoga & Sandcastle Building Classes
You’re on vacation, now it’s time to destress. Saturdays are especially fun-filled with Yoga and Sandcastle Building lessons here at Port Royal – the best part, they’re free! No need to bring your own yoga gear as it will be included in your lesson. Stop by our front desk for more information.
5. Fire It! Ceramics
One of the best kept secrets on the island! For a unique experience, this paint it yourself ceramic studio gives you freedom to pick a piece, pick a paint and get creative with the kids. More info here.
6. Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center
A “must-see” for nature lovers! As part of the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail, Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center “offers a raised boardwalk that extends out into the cattails for a close-up encounter with Mother Nature.” If birdwatching is on your Port A bucketlist, be sure to visit.
